World forest day

World Rainforest Day🌳🍃

World Rainforest Day is celebrated on the 22nd of June every year. On this day, numerous international and local rainforest-based projects and awareness programs are conducted, focusing on the protection of the rainforest ecosystems of our planet. World Rainforest Day was first created in 2017 by the Rainforest Partnership.

The rainforest system is one of the most important ecosystems on Earth, covering only 3% of the planet’s surface. Rainforests keep our planet alive by circulating oxygen, absorbing carbon dioxide, and keeping water sources fresh and clean. Over 50% of the planet’s biodiversity lives in rainforests, which are home to a vast array of animal and plant species. The sustenance of rainforests is essential for climate stability. The disappearance of rainforests is a very dangerous issue for the future. Currently, this valuable resource is being depleted due to human activity. Every year, billions of trees are cut down, destroying rainforests and threatening biodiversity. 78 million hectares of precious rainforests are destroyed annually. The main causes of deforestation include logging, mining, industrial development, and the clearance of land for agriculture.

Considering these facts, worldwide volunteers dedicate their time to raising awareness about how to keep these ecosystems alive and protect them for future generations. In addition, new innovative solutions for the preservation of rainforests should be encouraged, and actions to reduce deforestation should be promoted. Through reforestation, healthy rainforests can be restored and regenerated.

As eco-friendly volunteers, let us work together to be part of the protection of rainforest systems.
