On 26th of February “Eco Warriors 24” had launched as an Orientation program based on the theme of “Unleash Your Inner Power with Kung Fu” in order to warmly welcome all the new registered Zero Plastic volunteers and introduce newly appointed president, Secretary, Executive Board, Director Board and Team Leaders. That was a Virtual Orientation program which was held from 7.30 PM to 8.30 PM via google meet. That was a mesmerizing inception and groundbreaking initiation as the very first project which was able to continue Zero Plastic Movement, University of Kelaniya legacy to new members and earn positive first impressions from the audience. Main objectives of the project were introducing new leadership bodies, visualizing a glimpse of memories, photos, videos of previous projects so far and inviting new members to join hand with us to protect mother nature. Keynote speaker Mr. K.M Sudesh Ruvinda, (Senior Lecturer in Zoology, Department of Zoology and
Environmental Management, University of Kelaniya) added his valuable insights while highlighting
our responsibility toward environment and opportunities and skills that we can uplift acting as Eco– volunteers and shared his experience with the audience.
“Eco Warriors 24” not only filled with speeches, Vocal Artist Ashka Kulathunga had joined with the program to mix her glamours voice. In order to enhance member engagement there were some interactive and interesting games. At the end of the day 100+ participants got the idea of vision, mission and goals behind Zero Plastic National Movement. Successfully embedded the essence of Zero Plastic Movement, University of Kelaniya with the audience and encouraged them to be aware of environment pollution happened through plastic usage and take appropriate actions in order to make the world as a better place for human, animal and nature creations.
