Climate Change Hackathon
Held at CINEC Campus, Malabe
Date : 11th and 12th May 2024

Climate Change Hackathon was a collaborative initiative made between the London Stock Exchange Group, the Climate Zero Foundation and the ZeroPlastic Movement of Sri Lanka held on the 11th and 12th May 2024 at CINEC Campus Malabe. The event was abuzz with innovation and a shared commitment to address of one of the most pressing issues of time named ‘Climate Change’. The two day workshop bought together enthusiasts from diverse academic backgrounds most prominently from engineering, management, information technology and health who united together to develop and raise up technological, practical and sustainable solutions to address climate change.

The event kicked off with the participation of over hundred students received the opportunity to take part in training sessions, hands on activities and workshops to enhance their understanding on the related. Teams were formed amongst the members who bought in diverse solutions to combat climate change.

The participation of industry experts, mentors and professionals who bought upon themselves as judges and mentors provided guidance, feedbacks and evaluations throughout the event which paved itself for a more active and enthusiastic participation base.

The event concluded itself by recognizing three best teams who bought in the most innovative solutions.
Climate Change Hackathon was not a mere competition but a promise for the future, a call to action. It was also a promising indicator of leadership, team spirit and commitment that the next generation innovators are ready to drive change in order to ensure a more resilient and a more sustainable future.
