The Ministry of Environment has initiated a program called A Discipline, Not Law

Every day the school system in our country discarded between 95-100 kilograms of empty carbon pens into the environment. Environmental scientists have confirmed that a carbon pen that is thrown into the environment takes about 450 years to decompose.
The Ministry of Environment has initiated a program called A Discipline, Not Law ( නීතියක් නොව විනයක්) , to prevent the release of carbon pens and toothbrushes into the environment after daily use in Sri Lanka.
Accordingly, a program is underway to provide special containers for the collection of discarded carbon pens and toothbrushes to all government agencies and they will be collected and disposed of by INSEE Cement Company once they are filled.
As Zero Plastic National Movement , we are really appreciate the project ‘A Discipline ,Not Law’ Project.
