Microplastics were found in human body for the first time ever
Scientists have discovered microplastics in human body for the first time. A Dutch study published in the Environment International journal examined blood samples from 22 anonymous, healthy volunteers and microplastics were found in nearly 80% of them. Trace of PET plastic and polystyrene was found in the blood samples. These are mostly contained in plastic water bottles, disposal food containers and many other plastic products we use in our day to day life. Scientists warn that the ubiquitous particles could also be making their way into organs.
According to the study, the microplastics could have entered the human body by several ways: through air, water, food or other products used with plastic covers and containers.
Finally, this study proves that we have plastics which is harmful for our health in our body. Now, plastic is not only destroying the environment and animals, but also the man kind.
