Launch of the zeroplastic initiative

“Zeroplastic” is an initiative of replacing plastic products with local environment friendly products within the households around the country as well as to empower & promote local SMEs who can produce plastic alternative products, was started according to the concept by Mr.Nishshanka de Silva.

The Launching Event was held on the 27th of March at the Good Market Premises @ Racecourse Ground, Colombo 7 from 10.00 am to 12.00 pm in collaboration with Derana media network and Dharani Newspaper.

The guests of the occasion were Mrs. Achala Samaradiwakara, MR. Dilith Jayaweera, Mr. Nalaka Senadeera, Mr. Madura Withanage, and Mr. Milinda Rajapaksha.

Mr. Namal Rajapaksa who is the Minister of youth and sport had sent a message for Zero Plastic Launch. He said that this would be a positive impact against Environment pollution and Ocean pollution is one of the most serious concerns of this generation. He further said that together with the ministry of youth and sport they too hope to spread awareness on the impacts of pollution and create a more responsible, civic minded and environmental conscious society in Sri Lanka.

There, we officially launched our website “zeroplastic.lk”. In addition to that more than 100 entrepreneurs who produce environment friendly products replacing plastic products within the households, were informed about this project’s initiative step.
