The Hanthana Project : A Green Initiative by ZeroPlastic Unit of CINEC Campus.
In a world grappling with challenges to safeguard the environment, the ZeroPlastic Unit of CINEC Campus took a step towards promoting sustainability through the Hanthana Project. This initiative was a beacon of hope to conserve our degrading environment.
The event kicked off with an enthusiastic group of volunteers gathering at Hanthana equipped with an unwavering spirit to clean the area of debris. The cleanup up was not merely about collecting waste but it was also about setting an example for others to follow.
Following the cleanup, the focus was shifted to tree planting in the Dazzling Range, Hanthana. The event was guided by experts to root native tree species ensuring they were positioned in the most optimal locations for long term growth and survival. The activity also symbolized a future commitment as they would contribute to balance the ecology within the area diversifying to many other environmental benefits.
The project aimed at creating awareness, foster community participation and raise awareness among students, staff and the public about the environmental concerns and focus on the importance of tree planting to mitigate environmental degradation. The project inspired many individuals to take the next step toward protecting our environment and driving sustainability for future generations.
